La Roux To Begin Work On Second Album In France Over Christmas
La Roux are to begin work on their second album in France in the coming weeks.
Singer Elly Jackson said the duo intended to spend the time writing but warned fans not to expect the follow-up to their self-titled debut anytime soon.
“We’re going to stay in my manager’s house and use the quiet time to our advantage,” she told BBC 6 Music.
“We’ve only got two weeks writing time between Christmas and the summer so unless we manage to write a record in two weeks I don’t think there will be anything in terms of a second record for a while.”
Jackson added that she and bandmate Ben Langmaid had “a fairly clear idea” of what direction they wanted the second record to go in.
She added: “I think there will be a natural instrument or two on there though which will make a change from the first record.”

Great La Roux video from T4 Stars of 2009
Bring out your glow sticks, La Roux is re-releasing the track that brought them to our attention in the first place through Kitsune Maison 7 and we happen to have one of the remixes from the new package exclusively for your pleasure! It’s from Alex Metric, but hold yourself before generating mental expectations of what it sounds like because it’s not the usual dish, this time Alex Metric took a different route and traded the machine prowl for London rave vibes a more synthetic 80s simulated sound that works well with laser light shows, projected images, artificial fog experienced with colored cocktails and medical candy because you’re about to experience a 90s dance like electro-house tune that was built to sound like a polyphonic ringtone version of a stadium-rock track on large speakers.
The irritating vocals that became a pleasure are still there but with added euphoric feel to it, make sure you drop this one the next time you’re Djing.

Quick sand will be Re-released on the 24th of Nov with additional remixes from Boy 8-bit and Mad Decent, make sure you get a copy of the whole thing on Tuesday.
